About Us

From Farmer to Wholesale Butcher Awards

Our Story

My name is Rachel and I started The Butcheress with over 20 years experience in the wholesale Butchery Industry.

I originally came from a farming background and even now, still enjoy looking after my own animals.

We currently hand rear some of our own Gloucestershire Old Spot Pigs and Texel Sheep, as well as having 40 free-range Chickens who lay us some lovely eggs.

Above is a picture of my son Harry, who loves helping me look after the animals and making Burgers at the shop!

At The Butcheress, we are committed to sourcing top-quality British Meat to supply to our lovely customers!

All of our meat at The Butcheress is fully traceable from farm to plate!

Award-Winning and Supportive

Our Butcheress sausages and homecured bacon burgers have won awards in the Great British Butchers and Meat Management Awards.

Rachel made it to the Final of the Women in Meat Awards 2021 for her contributions to the wholesale butchery industry and this year has become an ambassador of St Richards Hospice so look out for our charity events coming up. We have also supported the hospice since opening and raised over £2500 for them

We have consistently held a 5 star food hygiene rating so you can always be sure to be getting the highest standards.
